Best broadband plans in Singapore for 2024

High-speed internet is a vital part of daily life in Singapore, whether for work, play or simply staying connected. There are 5 major Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in Singapore – Singtel, StarHub, M1, Simba and MyRepublic. Each offers multiple broadband plans and choosing the right one can be quite confusing.

Here is our guide to the best broadband plans in Singapore, including prices, speed and bundled hardware.

1. Singtel Fibre Broadband Plans

Singtel is Singapore’s oldest and most established telco. Its current broadband plans are all significantly discounted, giving you a good mix of reliability and affordability. You also get the super-speed latest Wi-Fi technology which provides download speeds of up to 10Gbps.

Singtel is considered a very reliable broadband plan provider but their prices are generally the highest considering contract period, bandwidth and Wi-Fi technology. In return, you get the confidence of knowing it’s Singtel, after all.

2. M1 Home Broadband Plans

Another established name in Singapore telecoms, M1 is the only one of the major providers that still offers 500Mbps broadband plans. Their fastest plan tops out at 2Gbps, making it the network with the lowest speed capabilities here. Its no-frills plans are affordable but still not the cheapest.

There are no setup fees for all except the HomePac 500Mbps plan, but only on weekends when it costs S$31.73.

All 24-month M1 Home Broadband plans come with Home Fixed Voice Service and Mobile Broadband (Bespoke SurfValue) while all 12-month plans come with Home Fixed Voice Service.

3. Starhub Home Broadband Plans

Rounding up the Big 3 of the Singapore telcoms scene is Starhub. They have a very simple selection of  3 main broadband plans, with the slowest being 2Gbps and the fastest, 10Gbps.

The 24-month 10Gbps Wi-Fi 7 plan costs S$69.95 as compared to Singtel’s S$79 for the same selection. Only MyRepublic has their 2-year 10Gbps Wi-Fi 7 at a lower price (from S$59.99) so the decision comes down to which you believe can provide the better service in the long run for the price.

4. Simba Home Broadband Plans

Simba is a bit of an enigma as their home broadband landing page is exceedingly basic. The yellow poster above is pretty much it, with links to FAQs below that. I tried to find out more using the ‘Sign up now’ link but that immediately requires login through Singpass.

Simba stands out for its short-term, no-contract broadband plans. They are billed every 30 days and do not tie you in to a contract. Another feature is that you can suspend your service for up to 6 months. However, this comes with a one-time activation cost and monthly fees.

Here is a tabulated summary with the information provided.

There is a 2.5Gbps plan which is immediately upgraded to a 10Gbps plan… so there is only 1 plan – the 10Gbps one. At S$29.99 for 10Gbps, it’s a killer deal at less than half the price of the other providers.

5. MyRepublic Home Broadband Plans

It may be the newest player on the block but MyRepublic is definitely not going for the budget crowd.

They have several gamer-focused plans and their Wi-Fi 7 Unleashed (S$59.99) gives you 10Gbps speeds, which makes it slightly cheaper than Singtel’s equivalent plan but double that of Simba’s. The difference is the quality bundled hardware, which you can see in the table below.

MyRepublic lets you choose the same base plan but bundle it with the devices that best fit your speed and home layout (router) needs.

MyRepublic generally receives very good reviews for its broadband delivery but sometimes struggles with customer service.
