12 Best Instant Korean Ramyeon In Singapore Ranked
At $12.90 per pack, the brand-new Ajumma Republic XL Instant Ramen is a maggie feast for those on the go.
Each pack includes four blocks of instant noodles, a seasoning pack for the respective soups, as well as vegetable flakes, making it a complete meal in minutes. Particularly for the kimchi-flavoured option, it comes with an extra package labelled “Real Kimchi Soup”. We were excited to try them.
Naturally, we couldn’t resist diving into kimchi flavour first—we needed to find out if it truly delivered on its promise or if it was just a marketing gimmick! As soon as we opened the seasoning pack, we were met with a strong kimchi scent. It smelled more sour than spicy or aromatic like the kimchi we’re used to, but since it wasn’t fresh, we weren’t really expecting anything much.
We also cooked the hot and spicy flavoured noodles at the same time, and were pleasantly surprised to find cute little Naruto pieces in the pack of vegetable flakes.
Once the noodles were done cooking, we were pleasantly surprised by how fragrant the soups were, especially the kimchi-flavoured one!
Given that the kimchi-flavoured noodles didn’t have an exceptionally aromatic scent before cooking, we weren’t expecting much in terms of flavour. However, we were pleasantly surprised as the broth delivered on its promise, tasting just like real kimchi—we found it remarkably similar to the delicious kimchi soups served at restaurants.
The broth for the Hot and Spicy flavour leaned more towards a savoury profile than an overtly spicy one. It boasted a robust and fragrant taste, reminiscent of regular chicken-flavoured instant noodles but with a mildly spicy twist.
While this XXL instant ramyeon may not fully replicate the authentic taste of authentic Korean cup noodles exactly, it’s a convenient alternative that’s worth a try, especially for the mukbang enthusiast! You can find this exciting collaboration at your nearest 7-Eleven convenience store or Shopee.
