What does CRACK mean?
If a recipe has “crack” in the title it means that the recipe has cheddar, bacon, and ranch in the ingredients. It all started with my Crack Dip way back in 2007. I made the dip for a Titans football game. Everyone went crazy over it. We couldn’t stop eating it and said it was like crack. The name stuck.
According to the dictionary, the definition of crack is “of superior excellence or ability”. We think the flavor combination of cheddar, bacon, and ranch fits this definition! This recipe is most definitely of superior excellence!
How to Make Crack Chicken Lasagna
This pasta casserole is super easy to make with only a few simple ingredients. Bring a large pot of cold water to a boil over medium-high heat. Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions for al dente. Drain the pasta and set aside.
In a bowl, combine cottage cheese, egg, and parsley. Stir well. Set aside. In a separate bowl, whisk together alfredo sauce and ranch seasoning.
To assemble the lasagna, spread half of a cup of alfredo sauce on the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish—layer six lasagna noodles over the sauce. Top the noodles with half of the cottage cheese mixture. Top with shredded chicken, crumbled bacon, and shredded sharp cheddar cheese. Spread half of the Alfredo sauce over the cheese. Repeat the layers and top the casserole with cheddar cheese.
Bake in a preheated oven until bubbly and the cheese is melted. Turn the oven to broil and broil until the cheese turns golden brown in spots. Sprinkle with parsley. Allow the lasagna to cool for at least 15 minutes before cutting into slices.
