Things are getting cheesy! It’s Feng Yuan Bak Kut Teh, a new stall in Potong Pasir has been catching attention with its cheese-topped bak kut teh.Â
With customers raving about the tender pork and classic Malaysian flavour, Feng Yuan might become your new go-to place for bak kut teh.
For herbal pork bone soup lovers, the Signature Bak Kut Teh (S$8.80 for 1 pax) is your style for sure. Feng Yuan does traditional Malaysian-style bak kut teh, which is more herbaceous than its peppery Singaporean counterpart.Â
So far, the stall has been receiving many good reviews for the satisfying herbal flavour of its BKT broth. Customers have also commented on how deliciously addictive the soup is, as they’re able to finish it without feeling too jelak.
For sharing, it comes in bigger portions – S$15.90 for 2 pax, and S$22.90 for 3 pax.
Dry Bak Kut Teh (S$9.80 for 1 pax) is for days when you can’t finish your soup but still crave that rich flavour. It’s also great for when you’re itching to have a little more concentrated umami with your pork ribs.
However, the dish that’s really been turning heads lately is – you’ve guessed it. The Cheese Dry Bak Kut Teh (S$10.90 for 1 pax, S$18.90 for 2 pax, S$27.90 for 3 pax). It is Feng Yuan Bak Kut Teh’s boldest creation yet, a sharp contrast from their otherwise traditional fare. Â
Melty, creamy cheese with dry bak kut teh? While Singapore is no stranger to fusion cuisine, one can’t deny that this is an uncommon combination. In fact, this may quite possibly be the first of its kind in Singapore.
Be it a result of the cheese-topped everything rage, or a flavour bomb experimentation, one thing’s for sure— you’ll never know until you’ve tried it! So if you’re a herbal BKT enjoyer with a love for all things cheese, make sure to give Feng Yuan Bak Kut Teh a go!
