A Hot Hideout, a mala joint that has amassed a cult following since its debut at Nanyang Technological University, is set to open their sixth outlet very soon! The popular mala chain is slated to open at Eastpoint Mall, a stone’s throw away from Simei MRT Station come January 2025. This also comes hot on the heels of their fifth outlet at the National University of Singapore in November 2024.

Diners swear by A Hot Hideout’s mala, so it seems that the hype is yet to die down anytime soon. For those who didn’t know, the chain is most known for their two unique offerings: silky scrambled eggs and a huge variety of deep-fried ingredients.

Some fried ingredients include luncheon meat, potato slices, lotus roots, and fishcakes. These fried ingredients are popular for a good reason—they provide a good textural contrast against the boiled ingredients, which tend to be softer.

Customers also love their Mala Collagen Soup, which boasts rich and spicy flavours with a subtle creaminess from the added collagen. Else, they also do a flavourful mala xiang guo or dry mala if that’s what you prefer!

Plus, they have a wide assortment of ingredients that get refilled quickly, so you’re always guaranteed to get a good variety in your bowl. You can load up with rice cakes, cheese tofu, spam, pork belly, fish, bok choy, enoki mushrooms, and just about anything you crave. FYI: their mala is charged by the weight here, priced at $2.88 per 100g.
